Project assignment was designing a new archaeological library in the historical center of Berlin. As the location is charaterized with the presence of iconic buildings such as Bode Museum on the nothern edge of the Spreeinsel, Pergamon museum and Alte Nationalgalerie, design approach had to be very sight specific and taking into consideration overall urban character of the island.

Perfect functional expression reflected in one ‘s form. Every book is a part of the building. Primary solid,  form solely about the knowledge, about the books. As if the books are holding up the building.

Monumental but modest, cubic form with a basement. Just like sculpture on a pedestal. As readers, each one of us has a personal knowledge collection, memories of all the books we have ever read and loved, of all the books that shocked, scared, amused or inspired us.

At the moment when one is inside the building, in the main hall, person gets overfilled with all those emotions at once, when one is standing in front of the great Wall of Knowledge.
